DirDate is a command line tool that can easily be automated to change file or folder last modification date, creation date or last access date. Change dates using a reference file, the current date/time or a series of YEAR, MONTH, DAY, HOUR, MIN, SEC and MSEC commands. It can process files in subfolders, handles read-only files, and has a preview mode so that you can see which files will be modified.

Java class library to read and set Windows file/dir times from Java: Create/LastModified . Create time is when the file was first written. LastModified is when the file was last written. Accessed time is when the file was last read or written. Uses JNI native Code. See FileTimes.java for the API to use these methods in your own programs. FileTimes does nothing by itself, other than a debugging test harness to demonstrate the methods.

 Works very nicely.I had a bit of a problem because I was not aware that the name of the calling class is part of the call interface of a native method, so I cannot call the native methods from my own Java classes. That was my fault of course.The main() method is apparently not flawless - doesn't matter, it's just the test harness after all.It should be noted that there is a Windows registry setting to switch off setting the Accessed time. I understand on Vista this is set by default. This makes querying the Accessed time ...
 Awesome The product worked like a charm but it needs more documentation.

I had a very important file on a exterior hard drive which I updated daily. The hard disk drive became unusable and as a temp. measure I transferred the file to a RW DVD which I prepared and formatted to act as a large floppy disk. (NERO)After updating this file the first time, I could not save it under the same name on this disk as the file had a R attribute. (Access denied) I tried to change the attribute to A but was unable to do so with the ATTRIB command after opening the command prompt.I downloaded ...

I did not get to try it because I could not open it. I ended up downloading a different program that would open.
 Nice app with some minor bugs Did what it was suppose to do; change the attribs of my folders :)Strange enough though, I had to type in "E:" or any other drive I was going to use, as it did not find any of my drives in the scroll-list.4.5/5
Changing creation date I tried to change a folder creation date on a W98SE system but I received a permission denied response. I could change the last modified date, but.Strange.

I don't know about the above .NET library spreadsheet reader; I've only purchased the Bytescout Movie Extractor but I really really like it. It makes finding and saving video clips so easy plus other features are included like extracting still shots or text. It's fast, easy to use, and I would hate to be without it (I should have ordered the cd for if I change computers sometime!)ads
